Jewellery Care

All jewellery needs to be treated gently to keep it looking it's best.

Take care not to expose it to creams, perfumes and chemicals as these can cause tarnishing and damage.

After each wear, it is recommended to wipe jewellery clean with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove any make-up or natural skin oils.

We also recommend removing jewellery before swimming, bathing, showering and sleeping.

Over time silver can tarnish but a gentle silver polishing cloth will help to bring back its colour and shine.

Store your jewellery in an airtight container, it may not be pretty but a small ziplock plastic bag will really help to prevent tarnishing!

Check jewellery regularly for signs of dirt, wear and tear.

Do not use abrasive cleaners on jewellery.

Gently rub gold or silver jewellery with a dry, clean, lint-free and soft cloth to remove surface tarnishing and increase shine. Do not press hard or use rough materials when polishing gold-filled or gold-plated jewellery as this may cause damage to the surface of the piece.

Take extra care when cleaning jewellery containing gemstones or pearls as they are fragile and susceptible to damage.

Over time, due to natural wear and tear, items of jewellery may need to be professionally polished, repaired, re-plated or re-set. Please get in touch if you would like our help with any of these services.
